Disability and Natural Disasters in NSW are holding a three workshops in October in Taree, Hawkesbury and Sutherland. The workshops are aimed at people with disability (18-60 years old) and parents/carers of people with disability to discuss their experiences with natural hazard emergencies and how they think people with disability can be involved in emergency preparedness. Local emergency managers, community service organisations, government department representatives and local businesses are also encouraged to attend.
The workshops are free plus refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Researchers at The University of Sydney wish to invite people with impairments aged 18 to 60 who reside in the Councils of Sutherland Shire, Hawkesbury City or Greater Taree City to participate in a ground-breaking project about disability and natural disasters. The project aims to build resilience to natural disasters in NSW local communities using an inclusive approach.
